Shaivism (also spelled Saivism, IAST ; see Sanskrit for pronunciation) is a branch of Hinduism in India that worships Shiva as the supreme God (Bhagawan). Followers of Åšaivism are called Åšaivas or Åšaivites. There are approximately 220 million Åšaivites in the world.
