Definitions for "SIGHTHOUND"
A hound that runs or courses game by sight rather than scent.
Sighthounds, also called gazehounds, are hounds that primarily hunt by speed and sight, instead of by scent and endurance, as scent hounds do.
Any of the following breeds: Afghan, Basenji, Borzoi, Greyhound, Ibizan, Irish Wolfhound, Pharaoh, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Saluki, Scottish Deerhound, or Whippet as defined by AKC and ASFA.
