Each request made to the web server originates from a unique IP address or site (see IP Address). Sites therefore provides a record of all IP addresses which have made requests to the server during the summary period. Sites cannot be considered to represent the number of individual users of the web site, nor can sites be considered to accurately represent the number of individual computers accessing a web site (for example, private networks connecting to the Internet via a router use a single IP address (the router IP address) for security purposes).
