Statement issued by the NWS when accumulating snow is expected to create a nuisance or inconvenience, usually for elevations below 6000 feet, with 2 to 5 inches in 12-hours.
A bulletin issued by the NWS to alert the public to an anticipated snowfall that will cause inconvenient conditions but is not considered a threat to life or property if caution is exercised. The exact criteria for snowfall amounts depends on the locale, if the expected snow were to occur at the beginning of the snow season or after a prolonged interval between snow events. Issued when snowfall is expected to exceed 2 inches but not expected to exceed 5 inches. A snow advisory may also be issued for snowfalls under 2 inches if occurring at the beginning of the snow season or after a prolonged period between snowfall events.
Issued when 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected to fall, within 12 hours, over a large part of northern Ohio. When 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall, within 12 hours, over a large part of southern Ohio.
