These are typically involuntary, rhythmic, coordinated, and purposeless movements, postures or vocalizations that may appear ritualistic or purposeful in nature. Stereotypies may be associated with a variety of neurologic and behavior disorders, such as Rett syndrome, Tourette syndrome, Obsessive-compulsive disorders, Restless Legs syndrome, Schizophrenia and Autism.
