A layer of loose connective tissue and fat that supports the epidermis and dermis; also referred to as the subcutis or the hypodermis
the deepest layer of skin, under the epidermis and dermis. Subcutaneous tissue is composed of fat, tissue that separates the fat in lobules (pockets), nerves and blood vessels. The fatty tissue is biologically active and subject to inflammatory processes.
Subcutaneous tissue or subcutis is the bottom layer of he skin and is composed of fat cells (adipose cells or lipocytes), connective tissue, blood vessels and nerves.
