(Skt) "Thread-self," the abiding self or soul which survives death, the spiritual essence (atman), stream of self-consciousness, individuality, or thread of radiance upon which the personalities of its various incarnations are strung.
Sutratma: a thread or cord of energy that extends from the monad to the heart chakra of the disciple on Earth; also known as the life thread, or silver cord.
(Lit. the Thread Soul.) An epithet of the Cosmic Soul conceived of as the thread that holds together all creatures and the universe; same as Hiranyagarbha, Prana and Vayu.
