The sweetie is a cross between a grapefruit (Citrus Paradissi) and a pomelo (Citrus Grandis) first cultivated in Israel in 1984. The fruit is similar to a grapefruit but sweeter, hence their name. It also has a thicker pith and a light green rind.

Sweetie is an 1989 Australian drama film directed by Jane Campion. It was Jane Campion's first feature film. Genevieve Lemon played Dawn, nicknamed Sweetie.
