Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL), is similar to HDSL, but as its name implies, supports symmetrical data over a single twisted pair line. Still in development, SDSL is capable of transmitting applications that require identical bandwidth channels, such as video conferencing.
A line in which upstream (customer premise to the network) speed is the same as downstream (network to the customer premise) speed. SDSL is found almost exclusively in business environments because, typically, residential customers do need high upstream speed.
