The Fly is a 1986 science fiction film produced by Brooksfilms and 20th Century Fox, directed by David Cronenberg, and starring Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis and John Getz. It is a big budget remake of the 1958 film of the same name, but with a substantially different plot. The film is more of a reconceptualization than a remake, one which takes the basic germ of the 1957 short story and the 1958 film and then goes in a different direction.

The Fly is a fictional comic book superhero published by Archie Comics. He was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby as part of Archie's "Archie Adventure Series" and later camped up as part of the company's Mighty Comics line. He first appeared in The Adventures of the Fly #1 (Aug. 1959).
