The Mission (known as The Mission UK in the United States due to a naming clash with a Philadelphia R&B band) is a gothic rock band formed in 1986 from the splinters of the freshly-dissolved rock band The Sisters of Mercy.
The Mission is a 1986 British film about the experiences of a Jesuit missionary in eighteenth century South America. The film was written by Robert Bolt and directed by Roland Joffé. It stars Robert De Niro, Jeremy Irons, Ray Mc Anally, Aidan Quinn, Cherie Lunghi and Liam Neeson.
The Mission is Captain Jack's first album, released in 1996. It features female singer Liza da Costa. Four singles were released from the album: "Drill Instructor", "Little Boy", "Soldier Soldier", and "Captain Jack".
