A Jewish term usually translated as " repairing the world." First used by Isaac Luria, a Cabbalist from the 16 th century. It describes the obligation of a Jews to do good works, promoting peace, understanding, and help for the hungry, homeless and oppressed.
Tikkun olam (תיקון עול×) is a Hebrew phrase which translates to "repairing the world." It is important in Judaism and is often used to explain the Jewish concept of social justice. In some explanations, the more mitzvot that are performed, the closer the world will be towards perfection.
