A Telnet program and protocol used to log in to IBM mainframe computers.
A version of the Telnet software which allows connection to IBM mainframes by emulating a popular IBM terminal, the "3270" terminal.
This is an old protocol that is used to connect to remote IBM mainframes. It is currently in use by InfoMcGill (which is now also accessible via gopher) and the now-defunct musica and musicb services. You can use various terminal emulators to connect to InfoMcGill via the tn3270 protocol, if you don't like gopher. You can get "HostExplorer" and other similar software from CC. Netscape's "Professional" version of their Communicator suite also features "Netscape IBM Host On-Demand", which has tn3270 emulation support. Under Unix, you can use tn3270 or x3270. see also: terminal emulator, terminal, server, CC
A variation of the Telnet program that allows a user to logon to IBM mainframes and use the computers as if he or she were using an IBM3270 or similar terminal.
A special Telnet program that emulates the terminals used by IBM mainframe-type computers. It emulates terminals in the IBM 3270 series that use the EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code) standard for encoding information.
a terminal emulation of an IBM 3270 terminal.
A slight variation of Telnet used to connect the user to an IBM mainframe. TN3270 clients exist for most platforms.
A version of TELNET providing IBM full-screen support.
A slightly different protocol than Telnet, TN3270 is used to connect users to an IBM mainframe.
A variant of the Telnet program that allows one to attach to IBM mainframes and use the mainframe as if you had a 3270 or similar terminal. [Source: BIG-LAN
A PC application that allows a user to connect to a Windows PC to an IBM mainframe and act like a mainframe terminal. Permits mainframers to work from home.
tn3270 terminal session. A terminal-based connection to some service, that requires a TN3270 terminal (-emulator) to work (cf. the telnet symbol). When part of a link, it should start a terminal-emulator and a telnet connection to the indicated service. Example: a link to a database manager running on an IBM mainframe.
A variant of the Telnet program that allows one to attach to IBM mainframes and use the mainframe as if you were using a 3270 (or similar) terminal. IBM 3270 terminals (and terminal emulators) are noted for having fullscreen displays, instead of line-oriented displays, and frequently have fixed fields or cells in the display where information can be entered and updated. Several popular library card catalog interfaces work best with TN3270 emulators. WWWebfx Home Page
A version of Telnet software that allows connection to IBM mainframes by emulating the widely used IBM 3270 family of terminals.
A special version of the telnet protocol that supports the IBM 3270 terminals.
A program for Macintosh distributed via the OIT Software To Go web site; provides IBM3270 terminal emulation when you connect to an IBM mainframe. Example: fullscreen TSO and WYLBUR sessions.
Windows telnet application provided through Bear Access
Delivery of a 3270 data stream via Telnet, provided as part of the TCP/IP protocol suite.

A variant of telnet that emulates the behavior of IBM model 3270 display terminals.
