Trix is a popular brand of breakfast cereal made by General Mills. The cereal consists of fruit-flavored, sweetened, ground-corn pieces. These were originally round cereal pieces, but were later changed to puffed fruit-shaped pieces.
Trix was a German company that originally made metal construction sets. In 1935 it began producing the electrically powered model trains that it became famous for, under the 'Trix Express' label.
Trix model construction sets were originally produced in 1931 by a Nuremberg company, Andreas Förtner (Anfoe). The German patent for the basic Trix pieces had been granted the previous year, in 1930.
