To remove yourself from a mailing list
To leave, sign off from, or quit a discussion group, interest group, listserv list, or mailing list. You use the term when writing commands to end a relationship with a discussion group or to remove a Usenet newsgroup from the list of those you would regularly read.
This means to cancel your membership in a newsgroup or mailing list.
To remove your name from a mailing list or Usenet newsgroup to which you have subscribed.
When the owner of an email address unsubscribes, this indicates that the individual no longer wishes to receive emails from your organization. People can unsubscribe either by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of each email sent through our system, or by replying to the email with the word "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
To remove oneself from an email list, either via an emailed command to the list server or by filling in a Web form.

list [ address] Use this command to unsubscribe from list. Without the optional address argument, this command will attempt to unsubscribe the sender of the message from the list. Otherwise, it will attempt to unsubscribe address from the list. Unsubscription is not guaranteed. It may require the approval of the list owner, and you probably can't unsubscribe someone else without approval. Also, if you are trying to unsubscribe yourself, you must either write from the same address from which you originally subscribed, or you must specify that address in the address field.
