Woolwich is a suburb in south-east London, England in the London Borough of Greenwich, on the south side of the River Thames, though the tiny exclave of North Woolwich (which is now part of the London Borough of Newham) is on the north side of the river.
Woolwich was a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1885 until 1918 and revived again for a short time from 1983 to 1997. It was based around Woolwich, now in the London Borough of Greenwich in south-east London.
