Definitions for "Yards"
A. A front yard is an open, unoccupied space on the same lot with a building, between the furthest extremity of the building and the front line of the lot excluding uncovered front steps. B. A rear yard is an open, unoccupied space on the same lot with a building, between the furthest extremity of the building and the rear line of the lot. On a corner lot, the owner may determine which of the lot lines, not a street line, shall be regarded as the rear line. C. A side yard is an open, unoccupied space on the same lot with a building, situated between the furthest extremity of the building and the side line of the lot and extending through from the street or from the front yard to the rear yard or to the back line of the lot. Any lot line not a rear line or a front line shall be deemed a side line. (Ord. 78-95. Passed 12-4-95.) D. Ramps for wheelchair users are excluded from the setback requirements contained herein.
