a bank which credits a cheque to its customer’s account and collects the proceeds from the bank on which the cheque was drawn.
A bank involved in the collection process. In this process if presentation is made to the drawee, it becomes also "the presenting bank."
Any bank handling a check for forward collection, except the paying bank.

Any bank, other than the remitting bank, involved in the processing of the Collection. Typically, there are only two banks involved in a Collection: the remitting bank (a bank in the exporter's country, often the exporter's bank) and the presenting or collecting bank (a bank in the importer's country, often the importer's bank).
Bank in the buyer's country that participates in a collection. The collecting bank may or may not also be the presenting bank, who presents documents to the buyer and claims payment.
A bank to which a remitting (presenting) bank forwards a collection in order to facilitate payment on demand or in the future. See "Collection" and "Remitting or Presenting Bank."
