Assembly of components that ensures an engine does not exceed its designed working temperature.
Prevents overheating by removing excess heat from the engine. Also supplies the heat source for passenger compartment heater/climate control.
The engine operating temperature is maintained through a thermostatically controlled radiator and electric fan.
1. An air conditioner. 2. A system of parts that circulates coolant through the engine to remove heat. 3. A system to remove heat from a heat-generating mechanism.
equipment in a motor vehicle that cools the engine
a mechanism for keeping something cool; "the cooling was overhead fans"
a means of transferring heat from the inner parts of an engine to the outside world to keep the heat from raising the internal temperature
In previous STR receiver models, the power transistors were cooled by natural airflow. The unit has fans to realise high output power without using limiter circuits. These heat sensors mean the fans do not operate within the normal temperature range, and cooling is provided by natural airflow. If the temperature rises above a certain point the fan operates silently for more efficient heat reduction.
System of components devised for the cooling of an engine, usually consisting of a radiator or other heat dissipator, a circulating pump, thermostat, coolant fluid and pipework.
While the cooling fans are meant to the entire HTPC, the cooling system focuses solely on cooling the CPU, which is essential to optimizing performance and keeping the HTPC quiet
The system that stores and circulates coolant throughout the engine (in water cooled engines only) to prevent overheating. Some cars have air-cooled engines in which air rushing by metal heat dispensing plates are sufficient to keep the engine cool.
System of parts and fluid used to cool the engine.
A system in the engine, controlled by a thermostat, which keeps the engine cool using fans and/or fluids.
A system utilizing either air or water to remove heat from the engine.
The cooling system on vehicles consists of a radiator, fan, water pump, and heat exchanger used to cool the engine.
The system that removes heat from the engine by the forced circulation of coolant and thereby prevents engine overheating. In a liquid-cooled engine, it includes the water jackets, water pump, radiator, and thermostat.
