Red Data Books. Red Data Books are now an established method of presenting factual information abut the status of the rarest and most threatened animals and plants. They have now been produced internationally and nationally for a large number of biological groups.

it's easy to guess it stands for Relational Database. This was the first attempt at DEC to build a database using such design and at the same time, the starting point for Interbase that prefixes its system tables with RDB$ for documentation purposes.

Relational Data Base. A file management system that organizes data into a series of tables, each containing a series of related data in columns and rows.

Reference Data Base

Relational Data Base. A mechanism for persistent storage of data that utilizes the Relational Data Model to ensure data integrity. The RDM is used to directly describe the stored data in terms of schema definitions. The software "engines" that support the database are implemented in a manner that ensures data integrity under the assumption of Normal Form compliance.
