Virtual population analysis. A retrospective analysis of the catches from a given year class which provides estimates of fishing mortality and stock size at each age over its life in the fishery. This technique is used extensively in fishery assessments.
Virtual Private Applications
virtual population analysis. Wahlund effect - a deficyt of heterozygotes. When individuals from the populations of different gene frequencies mix (not interbreed!) then the calculated expected gene frequencies for the mixed population depart from the --Hardy-Wienberg equilibrium. A significant deficyt of heterozygotes in a given sample indicates that the sample is a mixture of 2 or more populations with different gene frequencies.
See virtual population analysis.
Virtual Population Analysis. A type of analysis that uses the number of fish caught at various ages or lengths and an estimate of natural mortality to estimate fishing mortality in a cohort. It also provides an estimate of the number of fish in a cohort at various ages.
