An employee who is not appointed on a continuing basis and who is normally required to work an irregular pattern of hours on an intermittent or irregular basis.

A casual employee is engaged on an irregular basis without the expectation of on-going employment and is paid an additional loading in lieu of annual leave and sick leave entitlements. See the Casual Employment section for more information.
