"Proof of Delivery". Term used to describe the delivery receipt identifying who signed for the freight, plus the date and time freight was received.

Proof of Delivery. Information supplied by the carrier containing the name of the person who signed for the shipment, the time and date of delivery, and other shipment delivery related information.

Port of Discharge where cargo is discharged from vessel. When transshipment is needed, there can be a number of PODs during the course of shipment until it reaches the final POD.
