Statement issued by the NWS when sustained wind speeds of 30 to 40 mph and/or with gusts 40 to 49 mph are imminent or occurring.

A bulletin issued by NWS offices when sustained winds of 30 to 39 miles per hour and/or wind gusts between 40 and 57 miles per hour are expected for any duration of time. See Advisory. See High Wind Watch and High Wind Warning.

Issued for the occurrence of wind gusts between 40 and 57 mph for any duration.

Below 7000 feet- Winds of 35 to 39 mph or gusts from 39 to 57 mph. Above 7000 feet- Winds of 49 mph or more and/or gusts from 79 mph.

Sustained winds 25 to 39 mph and/or gusts to 57 mph. Issuance is normally site specific. However, winds of this magnitude occurring over an area that frequently experiences such winds (e.g., the normal strong summertime winds near the San Francisco Bay) would not require the issuance of this product).
