The Educational Reference Group (ERG) is a classification system developed by the Connecticut Stated Department of Education that groups Connecticut school districts together based on their students' socioeconomic status for the purposes of district-level comparisons. Districts are placed into one of nine groups from A (highest socioeconomic status) to I (lowest socioeconomic status).
Education Reference Group – This is a grouping of towns by the State Department of Education in order to compare similar towns – Vernon is Group F which includes Bloomfield, Enfield, Groton, Manchester, Milford, Montville, Naugatuck, Seymour, Stonington, Stratford, Torrington, Wallingford, Waterford, Windsor Locks, and Wolcott.
