arc is an ASN.1 compiler written by FORGE Research for use in internal projects. It is being released under a BSD-like licence. arc creates Java source code that uses the basic ASN.1 classes that were created for use with other FORGE projects. These basic ASN.1 classes are included in the arc distribution.

the Australian Research Council (ARC) has a statutory responsibility to advise the Federal Minister on national research priorities and the coordination of research policy. The Council also advises the Minister on the allocation of competitive research funding. The role of the ARC is to provide advice to the Government on research funding and research policy, and to promote the conduct of research and research training of the highest quality for the benefit of the Australian community. The Council has a special responsibility for basic research, research in the higher education sector and research training.
