Michael Kelly (March 17, 1957 â€“ April 3, 2003) was an editor-at-large of the Atlantic Monthly and a columnist for the Washington Post. He died in 2003 covering the invasion of Iraq.

As Lord Provost, he was instrumental in the city's adoption of the Glasgow's Miles Better campaign and slogan, which is credited with an important role in Glasgow's cultural renaissance during the 1980s.
