Blond (or Blonde, see below) is a hair color found in certain mammals characterized by low levels of the dark pigment eumelanin and higher levels of the pale pigment pheomelanin, in common with red hair. From degrees of light brown to pale blond, the various hues of blondness are found in a little less than 1.8% of the world's human population.
