A scenario late in the game where a player has one or more of his checkers confined to his opponent's ace point and is waiting for a chance at a hit as the opponent comes home or begins to bear off.
A game when the only chance of winning is if a shot is hit from the ace point while the opponent is bearing off. When well behind in the race it is often a last ditch shot from an ace point game that will win it for you.
A state in the game when one of the players is far behind and waits with his checkers in the opponent's ace point (his opponent home board) to hit one or more of his checkers while he is bringing them home or while he takes them out. This situation can make a turnover to all the course of the game and give the player with the ace point the wining even though he was far behind.
