Destiny or fate is generally considered that which has brought us to a certain point or situation in our life. It is believed that since destiny is the outcome of our past actions of this life and of the previous lives, our future destiny depends on how and what we do now in the present moment. Not only that, it is said that in our future lives we will we will pick up from where we left in this life. Doesn't it make sense then that we identify what we aspire to be (i.e. Sat-Chit-Anand state we originally are) and put all ourefforts to be so. In the course of time we shall be so. The best part here is that we can use our free-will to perform our actions to Be that we aspire to be. And destiny comes all the way to compliment us in every possible way. Incidentally, it may also be mentioned that contemplation/deep knowing of the Self/Atman is considered as the best purifier to cleans the effects of our past actions. That simply means we have means available to us to cleanse the effects of our past actions if we so apire and start afresh with our destiny. That makes us the architects of our own destiny.
