The Whole And Its Parts (Sample chapter attached) The union of a whole and its parts is termed a “holon” and is defined as the basic building block of the universe. Using a crystal as an example of a whole and using its surfaces as the whole's parts, the relationship between a whole and its parts is analyzed. Through visual inspection and with no need for prior scientific knowledge, the reader is led to the conclusion that the whole has more dimensions than its parts. This is stated as the first of ten “Holon Principles” and is demonstrated through seven additional examples.
