Rotary power tools which have cutter blades mounted in the rotary head that is spun by a motor. When the work is guided past the head, the wood is shaped into various moldings.
A shaper is someone who (hand) builds and designs surfboards. Most surfboards are made from pre-formed polyurethane blanks and then fine shaped by the shaper using an array of tools ranging from surform rasps, sanding machines and power planers. When the form is sculpted in the foam core, the shaper may complete the build by layering fiberglass sheets over the deck and bottom and laminte htese with a thermosetting resin like polyester.
