Cancer that has spread beyond the layer of tissue in which it developed. Infiltrating cancer is also called infiltrating carcinoma or invasive breast cancer.
Cancer that has grown beyond its site of origin into neighboring tissue. Does not imply that the cancer has spread outside the breast.
Cancer that has spread beyond the layer of tissue in which it developed and is growing into surrounding, healthy tissues. Also called invasive cancer.
Cancer that has spread to nearby tissue, lymph nodes under the arm, or other parts of the body. (Same as invasive cancer.)
