Bond anticipation note. A short-term debt instrument issued by a state or municipality to borrow against the proceeds of an upcoming bond issue.

BOND ANTICIPATION NOTE. a note issued in anticipation of later issuance of bonds. BANs are usually payable from the proceeds of the sale of the bonds. Sewerage System Revenue Bond Anticipation Notes are commonly issued by municipalities to temporarily fund a project in anticipation of a later bond sale to the Clean Water Fund Program.

Bank anticipation notes (BAN) Bank based corporate governance system

A short-term debt instrument that is issued by a municipality or a state. At maturity, the debt is paid from the proceeds of a new bond issue. BANs usually provide an investor with a tax-free yield that may be higher than other comparable tax-exempt debt instruments of the same maturity. Bond Anticipation Note. Notes issued by public agencies to obtain temporary financing for Projects that will eventually be financed on a long-term basis (and the BAN repaid) through the sale of Bonds.

BOND ANTICIPATION NOTE. A short-term security issued by a municipality. Payment of the note at maturity will be accomplished with the proceeds of a bond issue.
