This refers to the transition period in gender reassignment during which the individual must live and work in the new sex.
(RLT) - a one year time period where a transsexual must live full time as the gender to which they are transitioning before SRS will be granted, as required by the HBSOC
A period of transition prior to surgery, where the individual must successfully live in the chosen gender role. This is required by almost all SRS providers.
That period (usually a minimum of 1 year) imposed on the individual by the medical community in which he/she is required to live as full time in the role of the opposite sex before sexual reassignment surgery.
Refers to the requirement listed in the Standards of Care that a transsexual seeking GRS must live full-time in their desired gender role for a time period before GRS will be approved. This time period varies from doctor to doctor, but usually is from six months to two years.
