What is a Role Playing Game? Personally, I like to define a Role Playing Game as a game that MUST, ABSOLUTELY have three elements. One is a statistical setup for characters that describe certain skills/aspects of that character. Two, it must have some method of increasing and strengthening those statistics (usually but not necessarily by way of the experience/level system). Three, it must have a menu-driven combat system that utilizes the skills/aspects of the characters. player is a jukebox style front end for mpg123 . Its main feature is the ability to search for songs and queue them up for play. If there are no songs queued, it will play a random song. player runs under Python using ncurses, and will scale to a terminal window of any size. player has been designed to run quite happily on a diskless Pentium 200 client.

(n.) The controller of a character, usually used to symbolize one's real-life (RL) counterpart to online role-playing (RPing). This term does not apply to all characters as some "players" are always out of character (OOC).

Refers to the persons playing the poker game. Persons that are not dealing cards.

A person involved with the Player team in a Live Action Role Playing Game (as opposed to a person with the NPCs or Monsters). Sometimes people also used as anyone involved in a Role Playing Game (including NPCs).
