Dynamic Shared Object. An Apache module written in C must either be compiled directly into the server, or loaded dynamically at run time. Dynamically loaded modules are called DSOs. DSOs make it possible to add or remove modules at runtime without having to recompile the server.

Data Source Objects (DSO) provide the basis for XML data-binding support.
Dynamic shared object. An object that one program can share with another.
dynamic shared object. A mechanism which provides a way to build a piece of program code in a special format for loading at run time into the address space of an executable program. The DSO gets knowledge of the executable program symbol set as if it had been statically linked with it in the first place

Detailed Supplementary Objective. A Detailed Supplementary Objective (DSO) is a NASA-sponsored investigation that is performed voluntarily by the crew and designed to require minimal crew time, power and stowage. Biomedical DSOs focus on operational concerns and involve data collection before, during, and after flight. Early DSOs focused on human adaptation to microgravity, especially space motion sickness. More recently, studies have been expanded to include cardiovascular deconditioning, muscle loss, changes in coordination and balance strategies, radiation exposure, pharmacokinetics and changes in the body's biochemistry. Key hardware and procedures have been tested and verified as DSOs prior to use in support of more costly, complex life sciences investigations.
