Students in Title I schools identified as needing improvement will have the option to transfer to a school within the district that makes AYP. The school district will be required to provide transportation to the students.

One provision of the No Child Left Behind law is a requirement that states make public school choice available to students in schools deemed in need of improvement.
Title I schools that do not make adequate yearly progress for 2 or more years in a row must offer all students the opportunity to transfer to another public school.
Students in schools identified as in need of improvement will have the option to transfer to better public schools in their districts. The school districts will be required to provide transportation to the students. Priority will be given to low-income students.
