What Information Do We Collect?

Log Files
As is true of most websites, MetaGlossary gathers certain information automatically and stores it in log files. This information includes characters and terms entered into the "Define" search interface box, Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, browser language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. MetaGlossary does not link the information it stores in log files to any personal information.

MetaGlossary uses a third-party tracking service that uses cookies to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to the Website in the aggregate so that MetaGlossary can learn which advertisements bring Internet users to its Web site, analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movements around the site, and gather demographic information about its user base as a whole. Cookies are small data files that a website can place on a user's computer to allow the website to store and retrieve data about that particular user so that the web site can provide or perform a variety of tasks and functions. MetaGlossary does not link the information it stores in cookies to any personal information.

How is the collected information used?
