(We truly have no way of knowing which of these states we are presently inhabiting.) The watcher manifests or operates as an informer, who sees and perceives and often comments on whatever arises in the moment. To the degree that we are currently ego fixated it makes things presentable to our present state of being. It is constantly translating and editing. If we notice duality present in our momentary experience, than we know it is the watcher that is perceiving. The anecdote is to step back and simply observe the activity of the watcher.
