Chose (French for "thing"), a term used in English law in different senses. Chose local is a thing annexed to a place, as a mill. A chose transitory is that which is movable, and can be carried from place to place.

Something belonging to someone. Chose in action - a personal right which can be enforced by legal action e.g. recovery of a debt. Chose in possession - a tangible item capable of being held and enjoyed e.g. personal belongings.
