Finite Element Analysis. FEA is a software technique used to study stresses and strains on mechanical parts or components. Virtual prototyping software automatically generates input loads for FEA. In addition, FEA-computed component flexibility ("stiffnesses") can be imported into virtual prototyping software to accurately simulate the motion behaviour of systems with flexible parts.
