A body of people chosen to decide the guilt or innocence of an alleged offender. This body must discern the true facts of the case and not be swayed by the opposing attorneys.

A body of people, selected according to law, impaneled and sworn to inquire into and try any matter of fact, and to render their true verdict according to the evidence legally adduced.
