Orion is a manned spacecraft currently under development by the United States. Prior to receiving its current name Orion was known as the Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV). The new spacecraft will replace the current Space Shuttle fleet after the three remaining orbiters are retired in 2010, and will be launched from Kennedy Space Center on the new Ares I crew launch vehicle.

ORION (the Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network) is a Research and Education (R&E) computer network in Ontario, Canada. It connects Ontario's research institutions, including every university, most colleges, several teaching hospitals, and a few school boards to one another and to the global grid of R&E networks using high-speed optical fibre. With more than 8,200 km of optical fibre running through 22 points of presence in major centres in 21 cities across Ontario, ORION is one of the largest research and education networks in the world.
