US Department of Agriculure - The USDA is the Federal agency responsible for enforcing legislation governing the use of nonhuman animals in industry and commerce (including entertainment, food, and research). Chiefly, this includes the Animal Welfare Act/Title 9 Code of Federal Regulations (see AWA, or PUBLICATIONS for an overview).
