The success of Morning Glory catapulted Oasis from a moderately successful Britpop band to biggest band in the world with a peak being reached in the spring and summer of 1996 with several massive open air concerts in the UK, which included two nights at Knebworth in front of a combined audience of 250,000 people with over 2.5 million applying to buy tickets.
