Definitions for "1984 World Rally Championship season"
The 1984 World Rally Championship season was won by Stig Blomqvist and his Audi team, their first Drivers' and Manufacturers' Championship "double". They established an early lead, winning six of the first eight events, including sweeping the podium at the first two rallies. The arrival of the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 mid-season ended their dominance however, as the French company's new car was immediately competitive and brought Ari Vatanen three vicotires in the final four rounds.
