Abanotubani , in English translated as Bath District is the ancient district of Tbilisi, which is famous of its baths fed by the sulfric hot springs. Located next to the eastern bank of the Mtkvari River, Abanotubani has a historical importance for the city, because the place where the current baths are supposed to be the place, where the Georgian King of Iberia, Vakhtang Gorgasali’s falcon fell and the King Vakhtang discovered the hot waters and decided to build a city upon them.
