Definitions for "Acanthopteroctetoidea"
Acanthopteroctetoidea is a superfamily of insects in the Lepidoptera order, the "archaic sun moths". There are two described genera of these primitive moths, four species of which, in the genus Acanthopteroctetes Braun, 1921, occur in Western North America (Davis, 1978) and are leaf-miners on the shrub genus Ceanothus (Rhamnaceae). Another genus, Catapterix comes from the Crimea of Eastern Europe (Zagulajev and Sinev, 1988) where its biology is unknown (Kristensen, 1999: 53-54).
