(otherwise known as the Andean-FTA): The Andean Free Trade Agreement is being negotiated between the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (with the possibility of including Bolivia at a later time). The talks were launched in May of 2004 with plans to be completed by February 2005-a very aggressive and short timeline. Building on momentum from recently completed Central American Free Trade Agreement talks, AFTA will most likely be very similar.
